If you are someone who lodges their own tax return the deadline is fast approaching. The final date for lodgement of your 2020 tax return is 31st October, just days away.
Like me, some of you may be wondering where the last few months have gone. 2020 has not been an ordinary year. Most of us have just been trying get through day by day. Understandably, doing your tax may not have been at the forefront of your mind.
However, if you manage your own tax affairs and fail to lodge before 31st October, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) may issue significant penalties. Penalties which can be very hard to avoid.
The good news is, if you are registered under my tax agent list you have until 5th June 2021, to lodge your 2020 tax return. This will give you plenty of time to get your information in order, have your tax return professionally prepared by me and lodged with the ATO.
